Mineral/aqueous solution equilibria on magnesite suspensions open to the atmosphere show that the pH of minimum solubility of carbonate minerals is not equivalent to the isoionic point of the mineral suspension. For magnesite suspensions, the isoionic point occurs at pH 8.4, whereas the minimum solubility of the mineral occurs at pH values higher than 10.4. © 1988.
