abstract
This paper presents a hardware-in-the-loop implementation of the Prony's method in a real-time digital simulator (RTDS), an industrial real-time automatic controller (RTAC), and a commercial phasor measurement unit (PMU). The obtained results demonstrate the proper performance of Prony's method to identify the dominant modes and eliminate trivial modes. The conducted experiments suggest the potential and further applications of this method in real systems using industrial equipment. © 2019 IEEE.
