abstract
The effects of stator winding interturn short-circuit faults in Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motors (PMSM) are analyzed in this paper. A dynamic model with stator winding interturn faults is evaluated. This model allows to generate the interturn short-circuit through a severity factor vector fault for any phase. Aiming to develop strategies for detection, analysis of the effects of this type of fault experimentally supplemented with laboratory results. For this purpose the stator winding of PMSM was modified, allowing to generate the fault in one of the phases. © 2014 IEEE.
