abstract
There are two control objectives in active rectifiers: DC regulation and power factor correction, however it is difficult to reach both objectives simultaneously. In this paper is presented the use of an observer based control for complete both control objectives. A proporcional integral (PI) control is applied to regulate DC voltage and a hysteresis based control for improve the power factor. Experimental results on a 1kVA single phase active rectifier prototype are presented to verify the system%27s behavior. ©2007 IEEE.
