abstract
Carbon nanotubes (CNT's) are allotropes carbon, like diamond, graphite and fullerenes. There are different types of CNT's in terms of the graphite layers that form, can be single wall carbon nanotubes (SWCNT's) and multi wall carbon nanotubes (MWCNT's). This paper described the chemical functionalization of carbon nanotubes with different functional groups such as amines, carboxylic acid, diazonium salts, and the techniques used to carry out the functionalization, the biological properties of carbon nanotubes such as antibacterial activity, their use as biosensors and as carriers of drugs.
