A simple method for preparing polycrystalline bulk PbFe12O 19 hexaferrite has been developed. Ceramic samples were prepared using the ceramic method, and any lead deficiency can be compensated by a correct X-ray diffraction analysis by the Rietveld refinement method and a further addition of PbO. Adequate sintering conditions are necessary to obtain the single-phase compound. © 2004 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
