Dear readers, In the article “Effective transport properties for the pyridine-granular activated carbon adsorption system” by S. A. Baz-Rodríguez, R. Ocampo-Pérez, J. P. Ruelas-Leyva and C. G. Aguilar-Madera in the Brazilian Journal of Chemical Engineering (2012, Vol. 29 (3), pp. 599–611), the caption of Fig. 6 must say “Longitudinal and transverse components of the effective pore diffusivity tensor for three different microstructure geometries from activated carbon SEM images (from Valdés et al. 2011)”. In the same way, the final statements of the Introduction section should read as follows “To this end, the microstructure was assumed as simple geometries (ordered media of cylinders and spheres) or obtained from processed SEM images reported in the literature (Valdés et al. 2011). As a rough estimate, the point surface diffusivity at activated carbon is also reported”. Finally, the first statement of the Image Processing and Numerical Solution section must be replaced by “To take into account the real microstructure of GAC, we employ SEM images reported by Valdés et al. (2011) whose resolution is 2400×.”. Please excuse these mistakes.
