abstract
The microstructural changes of hot-rolled electrical steel bands (HRB) produced by deformation and annealing have been recently reported. The effects of such changes on the microstructure and magnetic properties of steels obtained by further cold rolling and final annealing were not investigated. The present research reports the chemical and microstructural changes caused to HRB, by deformation and intercritical annealing, and their effect on the final microstructure and magnetic behavior of non-oriented electrical steel sheets.
