abstract

  • To understand the use of ancestral plants during the immediate puerperium from the Nahua worldview. Ethnographic qualitative research. 14 puerperal women. Sample determined by the saturation and redundancy technique and convenience sampling. To collect the data, participant observation and the ethnographic interview prepared by the researchers and validated by expert judgment were used. Three cultural themes emerged, a) Traditional plants with anti-inflammatory and analgesic effect in the puerperium, b) Traditional plants with antihemorrhagic and antipyretic effect in the puerperium and c) ancestral plants that favor the production of breast milk. This shows that traditi onal plants must be rescued and incorporated into health establishments to transculturally health care.
