Single-Pixel Digital Holography Using a Digital Micromirror Device Chapter uri icon

abstract

  • This chapter explores into the single-pixel (SP) digital holography (DH) technique, which employs a SP detector and a digital micromirror device (DMD) as a spatial light modulator (SLM). By projecting phase-encoded sampling patterns through computer-generated holograms (CGH), the system effectively measures and corrects wavefront aberrations, allowing for precise recovery of both amplitude and phase information from the sample. Building upon the advantages of single-pixel imaging (SPI), DH has shown interesting potential in applications such as optical scanning holography. Recent advancements have focused on improving reconstruction accuracy by combining complex-encoded masks and PS techniques. In addition, considering the technique as an SP camera offers benefits over traditional 2D-pixel array sensors, opening the door to exploring new digital holographic methods and applications. This chapter provides the essential steps for applying the SP holography technique and highlights its potential applications.
