  • This paper presents the development and assessment of a R2P2 Boost-Boost converter based on the quasi-resonant converter concept. R2P2 converters have gained interest in research providing the non-cascading structure benefit. The proposed converter intends to expand the R2P2 converters in literature since few papers have been presented on R2P2 converters using soft switching techniques. Theoretical analysis and simulation of the proposed converter are compared to experimental results on a 200W prototype. The experimental results are presented considering power losses, components, and conversion ratio. A final comparison is also made against previously hard switched R2P2 counterparts proposed with a similar conversion ratio. © 2021 IEEE.
