Presently universities are required to provide educational training according to the actual needs of their social environment surrounding. In order to offer a program more in accordance with the present social needs and region employment opportunities, the Curricular Commission for the program of Pharmacist of the Faculty of Chemical Sciences of the UASLP, updated the academic based on an analysis of the academic and technical skills, as well as personality profiles required by employers. Alumni, employers and other professionals laboring in association to pharmacists in government or private institutions, were consulted with respect to the expected characteristics to be displayed by professional Pharmacists. The survey showed the existence of some strengths (professional versatility good critical and analytic skills, agreed values with its profession) as well as some weaknesses (the lack of integration of practical and theoretical knowledge, deficient knowledge of other languages particularly English and poor computing skills). These observations reflected the actual profile to be considered for the structure of the updated curricula for the Pharmacist in our University.
