ResumenIn a parallel paper we proposed a novel wideband mobile-to-mobile (M2M) fading channel simulator for vehicular communication systems (VCS). The proposed simulator provides an accurate and flexible solution to reproduce the correlation properties of time and frequency selective M2M channels under arbitrary scattering conditions. In this paper we demonstrate that the M2M channel simulator is well suited for the performance analysis of dedicated short range communications (DSRC) systems. We carry out a comparative performance analysis of two channel estimation techniques considered in prototype cards based on DSRC technology and IEEE 802.11p standard: The least squares (LS) estimator and the Spectral Temporal Averaging (STA) equalization scheme. The obtained results agree with those found in the literature for both estimators. © 2014 IEEE.
