In this work, we identify diagenetic calcium arsenates in sediment samples using synchrotron-based micro X-ray diffraction analyses. Our results revealed a characteristic (sub)set of diffraction peaks that do not matched any calcium arsenates reported in X-ray diffraction databases and therefore suggests the presence of a unique diagenetic calcium arsenate that has not been identified previously. © 2014 Taylor %26 Francis Group.
