We report transverse and longitudinal biased initial susceptibility (TBIS and LBIS) measurements on Gd(0001)/W(110) thin films. This study allowed us to determine the coercive field. From the Frölich-Kennelly plots, we conclude that the Stoner-Wohlfarth coherent rotations are predominant for bias fields | Hdc | ≳ 165 Oe. © 1990.
