abstract
There are currently problems that affect simultaneously the social, economic, scientific and cultural dimensions of society. This requires that educational institutions not only train professionals to serve the labor market, but also people aware that, from their profession, they should help solve these problems. Therefore, this research is focused on determining the level of social responsibility of the university student of a business school in a public university in Mexico. The methodology was non-experimental with an ex-post-facto quantitative approach. The sample was integrated by 385 students of the degrees of Administration and Public Accounting. Descriptive statistics, Spearman%27s Rho correlation coefficient and Student%27s t-test were applied. The results showed that the students have a high level of social responsibility as university students, as well as a social commitment to their community. The findings allowed us to conclude that, regardless of gender, age or degree, students have a social commitment as professionals and a positive attitude regarding their social responsibility as university students. © 2020, Universidad del Zulia.
