INTERMEDIATE STATE IN CYLINDRICAL TYPE I SUPERCONDUCTORS AT HIGH CURRENTS. Article uri icon

abstract

  • The structure of the intermediate state in a cylindrical type I superconductor is studied for very high currents, when the radius of the superconducting domains is much less than the electric field penetration depth. This structure is periodic along the cylinder axis and consists of regions where superconductivity coexists with a dc electric field, separated by regions of phase slip where the order paramter oscillates with time.
