This paper presents a new three-phase induction motor model that allows to simulate four kinds of failures even simultaneously. The cases considered are rotor, stator, static eccentricity and bearing faults. The electric faults are modeled by means of parametric variations; the bearing failure is simulated through a friction function and the eccentricity fault is modeled using a function of mutual inductance. In spite of its simplicity, the model provides useful information for fault analysis. A validation procedure of the model is presented. © 2011 Praise Worthy Prize S.r.l. - All rights reserved.
