A Fabry-Perot interferometer and its application to characterize flexural acoustic waves along an optical fiber are presented. Parameters such as acoustic wavelength, attenuation coefficient and phase velocity are given around 2-MHz acoustic frequency range. © Optica Publishing Group 2024, © 2024 The Author(s)
