abstract

• Plants and algae are an essential natural resource for obtaining biomass and its subsequent use for the green synthesis of bionanomaterials. This chapter shows evidence on the diversity of plants and algae used to manufacture bionanomaterials with different applications around the world and finally provides the benefits of the development and use of this technology. The use of nanotechnology in these products enhances the properties of plants and algae and positions them as sustainable and planet-friendly products. The information described herein will be useful for strategies to design new bionanomaterials from green synthesis.
