In situ temperature measurement in microfluidics using optical tweezers Article uri icon

abstract

  • In the present work, a technique for local temperature measurement in a microfluidic based on the use of optical tweezers is developed. The technique consists of measuring the displacement experienced by a trapped particle due to a flow induced in the microfluidic. The technique was tested experimentally, validating the experiments with a numerical simulation by finite element method and with ambient temperature measurements performed conventionally. The results presented show a good fit between experimental measurements and the expected values, and the technique in general presents a good level of accuracy.
